The Battle Against Eurasian Watermilfoil in Northern Wisconsin Lakes

Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM) is an invasive aquatic plant species that has been a growing issue in many of our Northwoods lakes and is especially noticeable on the Minocqua Chain of Lakes. 

EWM spreads quickly, forming thick patches in shallow parts of the lake, blocking sunlight and killing off native aquatic plants that many underwater species rely on for food and shelter.

Aquatic Plant Management (APM) is a locally owned business out of Minocqua Wisconsin that is taking on the Eurasian Watermilfoil battle in a big way by teaming up with our property owners and lake associations providing services to "Reclaim your Shoreline."

Fighting the good fight against EWM is not the only service they offer, we hired them to help a seller clean up their shoreline after years of decaying leaves made it look mucky and the results were incredible!

SERVICES OFFERED BY APM

-D.A.S.H: Diver-Assisted Suction Harvesting-An effective and efficient method of aquatic invasive plant removal where divers use a 50' suction hose to pull plants from the root.

-HAND HARVESTING: Experienced divers hand-pulling to minimize EWM re-growth 

-MECHANICAL HARVESTING: A seasonal solution used to combat nuisance vegetation and create navigable lanes by cutting weeds up to five feet below the surface.

-LAKEFRONT RESTORATION: Clean-up and removal of aquatic plants, sticks and leaves 

-HERBICIDE APPLICATION: Used when the invasive species growth exceeds the limitation of manual removal, EPA approved herbicides are an effective option
