Slow Down Speed Demons!
If you have ever been lucky enough to enjoy a day of boating on the Minocqua Chain, likely you have taken the casual, mostly slow-no-wake cruise through the thoroughfare connecting Lake Minocqua and Lake Tomahawk.
You are also probably aware of the 3000' corridor between the mouth of Mid Lake and the Thoroughfare Road bridge where excited boat drivers exclaim "hold your beers!" and open it up for a glorious and windy speed session.
Unfortunately dreams of this exciting stretch will no longer be a reality, as late in 2020 it was discovered that an ordinance from 1989 designated the entire thoroughfare as slow-no-wake.
towns of Minocqua and Woodruff have agreed to re-affirm the designation starting on April 22, 2021. Our advice? Crack another one and enjoy the view!
